Biography:
Dr. Beatrice Golomb received a BS in physics from the University of Southern California. She received her MD and PhD at UC San Diego.  She is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at UCSD. In addition, Dr. Golomb is the primary care physician for a panel of ~280 veterans. She is a member and former Scientific Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veteransí Illnesses. Biography:
Janis is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has a bachelorís degree in nursing.  After graduation, she moved to San Diego and began working for Dr. Golomb.  She was a research assistant (and later, the research study coordinator) for Dr. Golombís NIH funded clinical trial, The Statin Study, which examined the non-cardiac endpoints of statins, a class of lipid-lowering agents.  Janis is excited to work with the Gulf War Veteran population and looks forward to learning more about how to treat the symptoms of Gulf War Illness.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, rooting for the Wolverines, and playing with her two girls.

Biography:
Julie Broadwin is a graduate of UC Berkeley and has a PhD in Modern Chinese History from UCSD and a Masterís Degree in Public Health from San Diego State University (2000). After staying home with her two boys for 8 years, she has re-entered the world of work by joining Dr. Golombís Research Group. Her main responsibilities are helping to write grant proposals for studies such as this and research and write papers for publication. She is excited to see ill Gulf War veterans enroll in this study and hopes we can learn a great deal about how to treat them. When not at work, she likes reading, doing ballet, playing games with her kids and watching movies.

Biography:
Laura is a super senior at UCSD and will be graduating in December 2008. She is completing a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience with a minor in Economics as well as a minor in Chinese Studies. In her spare time, Laura likes to horseback ride, read, and lounge around.

Biography:
Jersey is currently a fourth year undergraduate at UCSD, seeking a Bachelor of Science in General Biology with a minor in Psychology.  After graduation, Jersey aspires to attend medical school.  She joined Dr. Golomb's Study Group in November 2006 and has performed numerous duties, including administrative work, data entry and being a psychometrist.  In her spare time, Jersey likes to play volleyball, go to the beach, and sleep.

Biography:
Hanh is a fourth year undergraduate at UCSD, seeking a Bachelor of Science in General Biology with a minor in Art History. She is pursuing a career in medicine and plans to join non-profit organizations aiding orphanages in Southeast Asia after graduation. She joined Dr. Golomb's Study Group in July 2007 and currently works as an administrative assistant, psychometrist, and IT-go-to person. In her spare time, she likes to paint, read, and play with her dog, Sharkie.

Biography:
Stephanie
is currently a third year undergraduate at UCSD majoring in Human Biology with a minor in Health Care and Social Issues. After graduation, she hopes to practice medicine or pursue a career in public health. She joined Dr. Golomb's Study Group in January 2008 and is really excited to be a part of it. In her spare time, she enjoys running, surfing, traveling, and hanging out with her friends.
